Skills Complete!!! Our Nurse Assistant students participated in their first ever Pinning Ceremony at the MLK Jr Performing Arts Center last night, creating a new CATEC tradition that dates back in nursing culture for many years. The ceremony consisted of guest speakers, including students who presented in Spanish to represent their culture. All students received gifts, their CNA pins, and personalized photos and quotes on the projector. Students celebrated their instructor, Mrs. Carter-Payne with a video celebrating the group's accomplishments. Congrats CNAs!
Our Teacher Appreciation Week activities wrap up today. Our staff was treated to new CATEC shirts, Kona Ice, a lunch buffet, and cake and ice cream!

CATEC's Center/Joint Boards has meetings on 5/4. The Center Board meets at 5:30 p.m. The Joint Board meets at 5:45 p.m. Signing Day is in the CATEC auditorium at 6 p.m. If you'd like to address the Boards, sign up by at jamesk1@charlottesvilleschools.org by 10 a.m. 5/14.
CATEC’s Completers Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Monticello High School, beginning at 7pm. Students should confirm with their instructor that they are considered a Completer. Students should arrive at 6:30pm to line up with their classes, wearing graduation-appropriate attire. Students who need ceremony gowns should see Ms. Wood on May 17th to arrange for one. Big congrats go out to three of our Auto Service Tech 2 students who are certified to perform VA State Inspections. This certification makes them very marketable in their field. We are so proud of Matt, Ryan, and Rhodes!
For the past 2 months our students have been preparing for and participating in interview events. 300+ students wrote industry resumes, took part in internal mock interviews, and then participated in industry-specific interviews with 30+ local employers. Thank you to all our students, staff, and local business partners who made this real-world experience happen! Congrats to our first Profile of a CATEC Student @k12albemarle @albemarlecountypublicschools AHS 12th grader, Natalia Duran, who is wrapping up her Nurse Assistant class. She hopes to work in pediatric medicine and will attend @PVCC in the fall and continue on to UVA. Congrats!
