
It's Photo Friday! We've returned from Thanksgiving break and started our countdown to winter break. Lots of spirit around the building and our ACPS 8th grade tours all month.


CATEC is hosting its Programs Expo on Wed, Dec 11th, 5-7 pm. Join us to learn more about programs, meet instructors, and find out how to request courses for the '25-'26 school year. Students will be registering for classes before you know it. Know your options for your students!


The Emergency Food Network and CATEC will be offering support for families of current CATEC students in need of food for winter break. Bags of non-perishable foods and basic cleaning supplies will be offered for pick up. Please fill out the form at the CATEC website under “Student Support” by Thursday, December 5th. Pick up will be at CATEC’s Adult Education Entrance at the right side of the building beginning on December 9th, 11am-7pm. For questions, please call Ms. Butler at 434-245-2447.

CATEC High School programs are closed Wednesday, November 27th-Friday, November 29th. Classes resume Monday, December 2nd. As a way to express gratitude for things we have, our CATEC staff and students wrote what they're thankful for on feathers to create a school-wide turkey.


Congrats to our 2nd November Profile of a CATEC Student, Nurse Assistant student Saadia Hamilton. The CHS 12th grader wants to be a pediatric nurse and she's well on her way with already being accepted into 5 colleges this fall! @CvilleSchools @CHSBlackKnights @chs_blackknights


A big shout out goes to our first November Profile of a CATEC Student: Jose Lemuz Amaya. This AT 2 AHS 12th grader interns at Flow Hyundai 5 days a week, earning income while learning! In his spare time, he likes the gym and reading. Congrats Jose! @flowhyundaicvl

Our EMT, Nurse Assistant, and Fire Science students were visited by UVA Health's Pegasus reps as well as Charlottesville-UVA-Albemarle Emergency Communications Center reps to discuss the role critical care plays in these three emergency service programs. Students go to tour the Pegasus Ground ambulance and learn interesting facts about 911 history. Did you know the first 911 service was set up in Alabama? @uvahealth @uvapegasus
