Meet the Principal

Dr. Stacey Heltz became the principal of CATEC in 2023 after serving seven years as an assistant principal at Charlottesville High School (CHS). Prior to that, she was a special education teacher at CHS. Dr. Heltz began her career as a special education teacher in Stafford County and served as a Coordinator of Special Services in Greene County Public Schools. She received her B.S. from the University of South Carolina, her M.Ed. from the University of Mary Washington, her administrative certificate from the University of Virginia, and her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Tech.
