RSS in Schools

Our school hosts a Teaching Through Technology session (http://22901tech.blogspot.com/) each month where educators learn more about the technology tools around them to see how teaching and learning can be enhanced. This upcoming session is focusing on RSS feeds. Many that read this blog may be well versed in RSS but many of us, not just educators, are caught up in the old school way of bookmarking. We are still seeking information instead of the information finding us. What a powerful tool that could be put to practice in our schools. Hopefully, after the session, we will have taught a few more people "to fish" who will influence others around them. (perhaps the analogy is letting the fish come to us)

Ben Taitelbaum from reframeit.com will be our guest presenter and will focus on the use of RSS feeds as well as showing us the unique things he is doing with his company. (Reframeit is an interactive tool that allows any user to make comments on webpages for others to see- bit of a social network to the sites you view) Check out his site to learn more.

I will provide an update after the meeting. Stay tuned.....
