Building Green and Social Networking

If you have read any of our blogs (see Innovative Technology in Education) you know that we are looking to find ways to incorporate social networking into the secondary education to enhance engagement and student learning through a collaborative forum.

Our Residential Construction Program recently achieved a milestone. Our school (CATEC) became the first in the nation to have a house REGISTERED under the LEED (leadership in energy and environmental design) guidelines of USGBC (United States Green Building Council)by High School students.

Under the watchful eye of our Carpentry instructor, Jason Ritter, our students are building a house with the assistance of Charles Hendrix of the Gaines Architectural Group in Charlottesville and utilizing energy efficient practices and materials. Now we want the world to know. How would you suggest that we use social networking to help get the word out of our accomplishments and to get students to help contribute to the discussion? Please post your comments.
